FOLKESTONE BOOK FESTIVAL 2023

FOLKESTONE BOOK FESTIVAL 2023

What a brilliant event from the organisation to the talks it was one of the best! The new curators Jen Thatcher and James Harkin did an outstanding job with many interesting authors and events this year. I attended some of the talks including Frances Tophill from Gardeners World which was a highlight for me as gardening is one of my passions. I bought one of her books about rewilding your garden, which is good and available on Amazon. Hopefully, Frances will be able to do a talk at my writing group next year about writing a gardening book. One of…

NOVEMBER 2023

NOVEMBER 2023

Winter is well and truly here some days, I wish it would not rain I find that so depressing so it makes me want to curl up indoors and read a book. I love lighting my candles and a hot chocolate with squirty cream and tiny marshmallows on the top. What is your favourite thing about winter?     I found this the other day, so I am looking out for pine cones to give this a try with Enzo (Great-grandson)                       PLUS NOVEMBER IS NATIONAL NOVEL WRITING MONTH I…

COVER REVEAL

COVER REVEAL

THE MEMORY LIBRARY BY KATE STOREY COVER REVEAL @avonbooksuk I was asked by Avon to participate in their cover reveal of this super book, I cannot wait to read this for a number of reasons. I am pulled to Australia as I used to live there in my younger days, I love the fact of saving a book every year for someone, plus families and life is hard for some and I feel this provides some hope.   For forty-two years, Sally Harrison has been building a library. Each year, on her daughter’s birthday, she adds a new book to…

CURRENTLY READING, PLUS THE SEAGULL & BOOK FESTIVAL

CURRENTLY READING, PLUS THE SEAGULL & BOOK FESTIVAL

I started reading this and enjoying it so thought I would tell you about it, there appear to be two storylines going on so keeps you entertained from the beginning. I thought it was going to be about the parent’s lodger, who does seem very dodgy, so why are they not getting rid of him? Then they go to a Literary event and the speaker dies on stage, not put me off going to these events thank goodness. I love a good festival and meeting authors, our next one in Folkestone is in November and tickets are now on sale…
