THE HYTHE FOOD & DRINK FESTIVAL LAST WEEKEND

THE HYTHE FOOD & DRINK FESTIVAL LAST WEEKEND

We had a great authors area this year with some coming on different days so we had a great selection of authors and books. Well done everyone, a super five days and a few books sold so all our authors are smiling. The variety of stalls this year was amazing, everything from cheese to material! It definitely made for a great day out. Then you had the choice of what food to eat while watching the many varied acts…

Write By The Sea will be selling all three of the anthologies that the members have written. The variety of stalls is amazing as are the street foods and different drinks on offer. WRITE BY THE SEA IN FOLKESTONE

WRITE BY THE SEA IN FOLKESTONE

I did my monthly chat on Acadamy FM with Kay last week, I am amazed that we managed to get through it as watching Kay getting the earphones on and off over the hat, reindeer antlers and glasses was a mission and so funny. We had a Christmas event also last week which was great, I did a game of Blankety Blank and the words some of these authors came up with, well I could not print lol. A great time was had by all and we are all looking forward to next year with more events planned. I would…

AUTHOR EVENT

MICHÉL FABER I was very lucky to have Michél come and give a talk to my writing group, what a fantastic evening we had. Going through his life, writing and living in different countries kept us all enthralled the whole evening, finishing off with a super Q n A session. I felt ashamed to say I had not read his book The Crimson Petal and the White but I have ordered it and the film so I am looking forward to reading the book first. His latest book D sounds really good and will please many children to receive that in their…

MY WRITING GROUP IN FOLKESTONE, KENT

WRITE BY THE SEA The writing group that I run here in Folkestone is doing so well, we have such a great group of people that all share their knowledge. We have a group meeting once a month on a Thursday evening where we have a chat about any book news that I have, we then discuss the exercise that we have completed which involves some sharing their work, or asking questions. I like to keep it very informal so as not to put people off from sharing. If any members want to ask questions or share some of their…

ONE ROAD IN BY HANNAH R. PALMER – BOOK REVIEW

ONE ROAD IN BY HANNAH R. PALMER – BOOK REVIEW

INDEPENDENTLY PUBLISHED ON 6th SEPTEMBER 2021 Hannah gave me this book to read last week at Hythe Live, I knew she had written her second book so I was excited to read where she had gone with this one. Her last book Number 47 was brilliant with great reviews. As I sat down for lunch last Saturday I started reading, I was engrossed, it kept you so hooked from the first pages I had so many questions going round in my head. I knew deep down there could not be a thing in the woods so what was it? My…

These stories are all set in iconic places around the town, there is even a map that you can follow to read the stories at each place. We all corresponded by email and WhatsApp, self-publishing last year. It is free on Kindle and available to purchase the book here on Amazon. A collection of ghost stories set against the background of Folkestone on the Kent coast written by a group…
