I was given this book by Lynne in return for a review, what a good deal that was as was a pleasure to write about this fantastic story set in Paris. I loved the way the book was laid out with a small map at the front and then a glossary at the back with the French words for people who do not know any French, brilliant idea.
This is the type of book that once you start reading you do not want to put down, it kept me wanting to read a couple of pages whenever I had a spare bit of time. It also kept me up half the night as I was desperate to know what happened but also enjoying this story so much I didn’t want it to end.
There is going to be another book to follow so I hope I don’t have to wait too long. The character of Ellyn is so normal and she hated liars and thieves, who she did seem to attract at times, but they never got the better of her. I loved the descriptions of French food and places so if you have never been then this will make you want to visit and eat.
I thought the way that Ellyn could tell the difference between fake and real silver was such a brilliant idea and made the story different so it was one of a kind. I highly recommend this for a brilliant holiday read wherever you are going or even just sitting in the garden dreaming of faraway places.
