NOVEMBER 2023

NOVEMBER 2023

Winter is well and truly here some days, I wish it would not rain I find that so depressing so it makes me want to curl up indoors and read a book. I love lighting my candles and a hot chocolate with squirty cream and tiny marshmallows on the top. What is your favourite thing about winter?     I found this the other day, so I am looking out for pine cones to give this a try with Enzo (Great-grandson)                       PLUS NOVEMBER IS NATIONAL NOVEL WRITING MONTH I…

HALLOWEEN FOR CHILDREN

HALLOWEEN FOR CHILDREN

It’s very hard if you are not in a suitable area to take your children trick or treating so I have come up with a few ideas to get them in the mood for Halloween in the comfort of their home. These can all be printed off. For the little toddlers you can go on a hunt for things in the garden or park for these, even add your own or make up different ones. Maybe give a piece of fruit every time they find something and tick it off their paper. For the ones that love to colour there…

BUYING PRESENTS FOR CHRISTMAS

BUYING PRESENTS FOR CHRISTMAS

This seems to get harder every year as the older people get, including children they appear to have just about everything they need. If they do write lists you will have to win the lottery to get everything, which kids fail to understand, Santa has loads of money in their world. Here you have some questions to ask so that it helps you compile your own list for your budget. Many shops have their sales on for the toys so have a good look around online before you traipse around all the shops as this definitely makes it easier. I…

OCTOBER 2023

OCTOBER 2023

o It’s so lovely to have sunshine still on some days, long may it continue, I think it was last year that it was still warm during the day on Halloween. I must admit I dread the clocks changing and it being dark by 4 pm, it’s so depressing and the only good thing is that you shut the blinds/curtains and light your candles. I appear to be collecting them as I have lots to use this winter. I didn’t want to mention Christmas but when someone said they only have three paydays, it made me realise that it really…

CHILDHOOD

CHILDHOOD

This picture took me straight back to a child at infant school, I can remember the books that these characters were in as they were very popular. Do you think more about your youth now you are older, I seem to remember more things from years ago than I do about day-to-day things. My memory is getting bad but at least my friends are suffering the same problem. I love looking at my Pinterest page here at all the things I can remember from my childhood. Can you remember some of these? Memories are lovely but it’s usually only the…

LOVELY CORFU

LOVELY CORFU

Not…… we have had rain and thunder, which was the loudest I have ever heard and scared the living daylights out of me, for two days! Corinne said she has never known two days of shit weather in all the time she has been coming here. In UK they are having a mini heatwave this week, jammy buggers but the thing that is keeping a smile on our faces is that next week it is going to be lovely and hot so we can spend it on the beach which is just up the road from our apartment. We met…

MY GARDEN

MY GARDEN

I am trying to get the garden to a more manageable state as I am finding it really hard to keep on top of the weeds. I would also love to fit a small shed somewhere! This artificial turf has turned out okay considering my 9-year-old grandson did most of it. I love Fuscia plants but have never seen these grape-looking things on them before, have you, what are they, seed pods? I am really liking Dalias this year. The large ones are beautiful and seem to last a long time plus I still have some to flower. What are…

SEPTEMBER 2023

SEPTEMBER 2023

A new month heading into Autumn but I still want summer to carry on, It feels like it was over all too soon and not enough sunshine.  I decided to set some goals for this month with the first one to finish one of the books I am writing. I have two weeks away so should get most of it finished by the time I return. I don’t like thinking about Christmas yet,  I should get a list going and start thinking about what to get for family and friends. We need to decide and book where the ladies that…
