BURFORD BRIDGE HOTEL

  I stayed at a hotel near Gatwick the other night, even though the flight wasn’t early, we still had to get to the airport plus leave time to get through the palarva at security. The hotel was lovely, they have recently had a refurbishment which really has made a difference. We had a meal at the local pub which was superb. They are so nice here and friendly. Also, I had won two tickets from FOLKESTONE RADIO to the lounge area, so I wanted to spend some time there just chilling and maybe have a cheeky couple of glasses…

MY GARDEN

I was so pleased to see the Lily of the Valley was at last growing in my garden. I have been trying for years to grow this; it reminds me of my nan and grandad’s house, as they had it growing outside the back door. The smell in the mornings was lovely when you opened the door. I have tried growing it in big pots, small pots, in the garden, and fed it regularly, but never had any luck. LEMON PIPS

LEMON PIPS

I often save the pips from the lemons and plant them to see if I can grow them. These last lot I left on the windowsill so they dried out a bit. I then planted them in some gritty pond compost, as that was all I had at the time. They must really like that, as about five of them grew. I have just repotted a couple of them and keep putting them outside to harden off during the day. I think I am lucky as my garden is a sun trap, so they really seem to be growing well.…
