MORENA restaurant in 6 Guildhall Street, Folkestone, Kent
I went for dinner last week with Kara. We are trying to go to places we haven’t been before as we both like trying new things and it gives me something to write about on here! Walking into this restaurant, you have the kitchen area on your right with a high counter, this is where they do their takeaway orders. We were shown to the cosy seating area towards the back by Amy, who provided the menus and then returned to ask for the drink requests. We then studied the menu. When Amy came back with our drinks, which were nice and cold in shiny glasses, she also brought a small bowl of complimentary olives, which were delicious. Kara asked about a couple of things on the menu, I sat there amazed as I had never encountered a waitress who knew so much about all the dishes on the menu!
We both decided to try burgers, so Kara had the Mexican burger, salad, sauce and cheese, and I had the Pulled Pork Cheddar Melt with Fried Onions. The chips were delicious, as was the coleslaw. We enjoyed our food immensely, even though I could not eat all of mine. I was so full that we didn’t have any dessert, which was highly unusual.
A place I would recommend and go to again. We had a very enjoyable couple of hours. We had one drink each of Prosecco and wine and another dish of olives, which we had to pay for. The bill came to £49.10
Thank you, Amy, for being a very dedicated waitress and the only waitress on duty but still kept on top of everything in this restaurant.
