A DAY IN LONDON

The day started off very wet and windy, then as soon as we made our way to the bus stop to get the coach the sun made an appearance. The trip to London took about an hour and a half, going past many of the landmarks that are so well known. We were dropped right outside Harrods so we made our way inside for the start of the 4-hour shopping stint. There are five floors of everything you could wish for, with an excellent choice. They even have a food hall where London workers pop in to buy their wraps…

CHRISTMAS AFTERNOON TEA Step through the door into the Christmas space that is Anna’s, plenty of yuletide spirit here plus a delicious afternoon tea. Comprising everything that invites that Christmas feeling. All homemade with love and care then presented on a beautiful tree shape stand. It was certainly filling with so many flavours to bring your taste buds alive. The ambience of these tea rooms is extremely friendly, plus also it turns into a gin house for the occasional evening event, I am looking forward to visiting one of these. Kelly also does private events where she does all the catering and…

LEAS CLIFF HALL, FOLKESTONE You have until 4 pm to get along to The Leas Cliff hall for one of the best craft Christmas events, so much to see with a very varied price range. Did you know you can get Christmas cards with seeds for planting? What a brilliant idea. The reindeer need their Christmas treat and for 50p it’s a bargain. I love the reusable bottles with the cocktail recipe on them. Some lovely jewellery is available so you could grab a few more presents for the big day.

What a nostalgic trip this was, from the chug chug noise swaying to the seats, all material like they used to be and then the door with the drop-down window, what a massive health and safety issue that was back in the day. The views of the Autumn colours from the trees were amazing and considering it was steam power it went faster than I was expecting. Stopping at some stations that looked like they lived in the past. Definitely a trip worth taking if you are in Yorkshire.
