DAY FOUR
VENICE We all left the hotel about 8 am on our way to Venice. We had a very overcast day but with all there was to see I don’t think it bothered anyone. The buildings are so beautiful but it does make you wonder if they are damp inside to live in. St Marks Square was still a bit flooded so they have boardwalks for you to walk across but they are so packed. We started the day by leaving the hotel by 10.30 which wasn’t too bad but I feel everyone is feeling a bit tired. We travelled to a place called Sirmoione which is on the southern peninsula of Lake Garda. I thought it was very reminiscent of the Lanes in Brighton. Most of the shops are expensive but there are also some beautiful things to buy. We went through a few towns such as Peschiera, which has canals going all around the town. The sun is warm when the wind drops but what a shock to the system with the temperature drop. I am so pleased that I am on holiday soon, we are going to Italy on a coach, we will be based in Lake Garda and we will be taken for days out to Venice and Verona.
