BOOK LAUNCHES LAST THURSDAY

I organised a couple of book launches for two lovely Folkestone authors last Thursday. The first one was for Margaret Harland-Suddes, who had written a YA fiction story which had been taken up by a London publishing company called Austin Macauley. The book is called Finding Kronam. I have read it, and you can read my review here.  The food was made by Kara from Everlasting Events.   The cupcakes were amazing, and the biscuits, as they were made especially for this event, the cakes had pics of the book on them, very clever. Margaret did a reading and then answered questions about her writing. It was a really enjoyable couple of hours at The Folkestone Bookshop. Margaret has two other books available that can be ordered from the bookshop or on Amazon here.

The next event was for Jo Bavington-Jones for her book called The Bonfire Buddleia. I have also read this story, and my review is here.

Jo has started her own publishing company, Hut22 Books, so her books are now published through this company. Kara did the catering for this event as well, which again was all delicious, with some being gluten-free. Jo has many other books available to order from the bookshop or Amazon here.

I am just about to start reading her third book in the crime series that is set in Folkestone, you may recognise some characters. These are some of my favourite books. Again, a very enjoyable couple of hours at The Folkestone bookshop on Tontine Street.

I try to support our local authors from Folkestone, as it is not easy getting the word out about their books; they spend so much time writing for us readers. Please try to support them next time you are looking for a new book to read.

We all had a super day celebrating the release of these new books, looking forward to the next one.
