
This was so unbelievable that I just had to write about it! LOL I saw that a local place was advertising their festive lunches, so my friends and I thought we would book that for our December Christmas get-together.
We had to pay a £5 deposit each. I went to the bar to book.
I was then told I had to book online, but after I book online, they can then take the deposit. I tried to say that I had tried to book online, but it would not let me.
I go online and try to book.
I go back to the bar, she asks for my phone as she thinks she can do it, and I say You cannot book online, and I show her the message on the phone. She then asks, “How many people?” Nine, oh, that’s why you cannot book as it’s over eight. I want to scream at this point!
I am getting more exasperated by the minute. She gets a work tablet and does all the booking in, and I fill in all my details.
I then go to pay….. “You cannot pay until it says accepted. How long will that take? Come back in tomorrow and pay!
Another assistant interrupts and says, Just do two bookings….There is nowhere to link two bookings, so you could end up sitting in separate rooms!
Was it worth it? Well, I feel like telling them to stick it, but this place is central to where we all live, with a car park and good prices. I will send Kara to pay as she’s tough lol
