My granddaughter Kara and I went to Canterbury the other day as she wanted to go to the cat cafe, this was a very late birthday treat as she has not been very well. Located in Mercury Lane just off the main High Street in Canterbury, you will find this unique cafe, the biggest cat cafe in the UK. It is an amazing place and well worth a visit, at present, they have 28 resident cats that are looked after so well infact I would say spoilt with the amount of attention they get from not only the staff but the visitors to the cafe.
I liked the way the whole place was cat-proofed and designed, even the books are all cat-related, with a super space for you to buy just about any cat-related products.
Here is a selection of the cats, there are three floors here, with the top one being just for the ones that are not feeling sociable that day! lol. You are free to wander around to stroke and play with them. The rules are not to wake up if they are sleeping, not to pick them up and not to let them have any of your food or drink. You can even sit and give them a brush if they are feeling that vibe.
The menu includes a huge variety of teas and coffee, plus light snacks such as Paninis and scones. We each tried different flavours of hot chocolate, which were delicious. You get an hour for each booking, which is plenty of time to discover all the cats in their favourite places. As they knew it was her birthday treat, they had a card and sweets ready for her, which they had just started to introduce at the cafe. So if you have cat-minded children, this would make an ideal present for them.
Oh wow this looks so lovely, I’d love to go here 😍😍
