Autumn has arrived here in Uk but still very mild, the leaves are collecting on the ground and the children have had fun collecting the conkers that have fallen. I love that the cooking, soaking and ingenious ways of making the conkers harder for the games are still an active pastime for the children, this is one that is definitely passed down the generations. I was so pleased to see one of the frogs back the other day, they really do keep the slugs away from my plants, I need to find the other 100 from the tadpoles I put in there last year! Goodness knows where they have all gone. UPDATE – I have two more in the pond! What a glorious setting for a Sunday lunch sitting in the sunshine, this takes me back to my childhood as we often used to come here as Nan and Grandad loved it and dreamt of having one of the cabin boats themselves. At The Malta, they have increased the seating and staff so even though it was very busy we got a nice table and within 30 minutes we had ordered and were eating our lunch.
