As August was a washout it was a pleasant surprise that the sun has been shining this month, long may it continue but the nasty weatherman keeps saying it is going to rain next week!  I always think it is good when we have a bit of sun during September/October as it feels like winter will be a shorter season. I have Olives growing this year! How’s the summer going for you? “What summer,” I hear you shout from the UK. The summer sun has not really escaped from the clouds much, to everyone’s disappoint.  It appears many are not happy around the world  as if the sun shines it’s too hot, causing fires, the rain is too fierce, causing destruction. SUMMERS PAST

Some of us wait anxiously for long hot summer days filled with fun, laughter, and grandchildren. It is definitely true that the older you get the quicker the time goes and six weeks of summer is over in a blink of the eye. I cannot recall a time ever where the six weeks have been sunny every day but my memory fails to remember a wet day inside when growing up. How did we get to August so quickly? Mind you, the weather is like autumn and the cushions, etc for the garden have been indoors more than outside. The great British summer, if only it could be nice people wouldn’t need to go abroad then. I feel sorry for the campers when the weather is bad like this, rain all weekend! My daughter Billie lost her best friend yesterday, Angie. Far too young to be taken from us and leaving two daughters and a granddaughter. Why is it always the good ones that have to leave so early?
