These books were given to me by Claire McCauley at the Meet Cute Book Festival I went to back in the summer. Which will be on again next year and is really worth getting tickets for, as it was one of the best book events I have ever been to.
I enjoyed both these books, which were nice, smooth reading for December and the run-up to festivities. Both books had a hook to keep you reading, and at some points, you do not think it will all work out. Lovely characters that all work together really well and set the story up.
Claire McCauley grew up in Bath before settling in Oxfordshire. After a decade as a stay-at-home mum, escaping by reading three novels a week, she started to write the kind of escapist women’s fiction that she loves. Currently, Claire lives beside the river in Oxford with her Irish husband, two daughters, three sons, and a wire-haired vizsla.
