I went to an author event at the book festival last week as it was an introduction to some of our local authors, I thought I knew most of them but I was super surprised to see the line up and only knew three of them!  Where have they been hiding, I made contact with most of them and waiting to hear from them about their writing journey and books. What a brilliant event from the organisation to the talks it was one of the best! The new curators Jen Thatcher and James Harkin did an outstanding job with many interesting authors and events this year. I attended some of the talks including Frances Tophill from Gardeners World which was a highlight for me as gardening is one of my passions. I bought one of her books about rewilding your garden, which is good and available on Amazon. CURRENTLY READING, PLUS THE SEAGULL & BOOK FESTIVAL

I started reading this and enjoying it so thought I would tell you about it, there appear to be two storylines going on so keeps you entertained from the beginning. I thought it was going to be about the parent’s lodger, who does seem very dodgy, so why are they not getting rid of him? Then they go to a Literary event and the speaker dies on stage, not put me off going to these events thank goodness.
