BOOK COVER REVEAL
My writing group in Folkestone called Write by the Sea has published its third anthology called Journeys by the Sea. The book launch will be on Saturday 13th May from 2pm until 6pm at the new bookshop in Tontine Street, Folkestone, Kent CT20 1JP This is a free event for everyone to attend, there will be refreshments, finger buffet and crafts for children to do while you browse the books and meet all the authors. I was very lucky to win a £30 voucher for Aspendos in a raffle so I decided to make an evening of it and take Kara & Ben and Jade out for a meal. I had never been to this Turkish restaurant before, it is a very popular place with establishments in all neighbouring towns. The sea view here with the afternoon sun is really nice and warm, just right for a pre-dinner aperitif. Did you know this was a ‘thing’? I have not heard of it before but I do think it makes sense to have something like this during the warmer months as many writers do take some time off work to complete their writing or even to do some writing when they have some time to themselves. I had a lovely afternoon out with Kara on Saturday in Deal which is about half an hour from Folkestone. I had never had food at The Lane before but have heard so many great things about this cute bar.
