As we head toward summer it’s lovely to see the garden beginning to get a bit of colour in it, I keep buying plants so I’m really hoping for a brilliant display and have enough to cut for indoors this year. It’s great having the bank holidays and we get an extra one this year, courtesy of the queen and so many events on it is hard to know what to go to, although if it rains I won’t be going anywhere.     Birchington has joined the literary buzz around the southeast with its first festival. Today was day one, the sun was shining, there was cake, interesting authors and plenty of people to listen.
