THE MIRROR MAN BY FIONA McINTOSH – BOOK REVIEW

PUBLISHED BY NO EXIT PRESS ON THE 16th JANUARY 2025

Fiona McIntosh is one of Australia’s favourite storytellers across various genres, and her Jack Hawksworth character is regularly in the National Top 10.

Originally born and raised in Sussex, Fiona is delighted to be bringing the Scotland Yard detective series, which has been optioned for TV, home for release in the UK during 2025. She divides her time between South Australia and Wiltshire.

Originally from Brighton, Fiona McIntosh moved to Australia in her teens and forged a successful career in travel, running a business with her husband before becoming a writer. She continues her work and on top of this not only writes at least two books a year, but also spearheads the Fab Fantasy Bookclub – Australia’s premier fantasy bookclub. She lives in southern Australia with her husband, her two lovely sons, two mad dogs and two insane birds.

This was one of my three books for £7 I picked up from The Works, so I have now read them all, more shopping coming on, I can feel, but book buying is a chore that is so much nicer than food shopping, you cannot call it a chore at all. I enjoyed this story immensely as it built up, and then you had to figure out who was doing the killing. It keeps you turning those pages as this author drips clues into the story. Very clever, I thought, but I did guess who was doing the killings about three-quarters of the way through. But saying that, there was a little twist towards the end that I was not expecting. Very good holiday reading, so get it in your suitcase! I will look out for more from this author as I do rate her and look forward to some of her books being on TV.
