After completing a psychology degree, Alice Hunter became a prison intervention facilitator. There, she was part of a team offering rehabilitation programmes to men serving sentences for a wide range of offences, often working with prisoners who’d committed serious violent crimes. Previously, Alice was a nurse working in the NHS. She now puts her experiences to good use in fiction. The Serial Killer’s Wife, The Serial Killer’s Daughter and The Serial Killer’s Sister all draw heavily on her knowledge of psychology and the criminal mind.
This took a while to get going, but I stuck with it as what I had read about this book sounded good and just what I like. I would say the second half was very good. The characters were likeable and appeared work relatable by their attitude, so it was a shock when I got towards the end and found that these good, grounded characters were anything but! It made the story, though, so I enjoyed the last half of this book immensely. If you don’t mind a slow start, then get it on your to-read list.
