It was so nice to catch up with all my friends I used to work with many years ago, we seem to have slipped from our monthly meetings as life just gets in the way and goodness knows how we used to fit in going to work. Our brains might not be on the ball and our legs don’t move as quickly but we can sure laugh and exchange news and gossip until the cows come home. In our way, I feel we all needed this lunch with friends as sometimes life can be so hard, especially when you get older.
The Malta is a beefeater chain so prices are good and if you have their card you get points everytime you visit and then you can exchange them for food or drink. This pub has been here since at least the 60’s as I can remember visiting as a child as you can sit outside looking at the boats on the river. There is even a tour boat you can catch further up from the pub.
The lunch menu has a good choice so we all went for that, two courses as we all like a bit of dessert!
I had the beef lasagna which was nice and creamy then the chocolate fudge cake all washed down with a small Prosecco. Some of the ladies complained it was a bit cold in there but apart from that the service and food were lovely. I’m looking forward to next month already.
