The ride to the airport at 4 am was quick as not a lot of traffic on the roads and luckily no roadworks. Bob the driver kept us entertained with his garden growing antics.
Stanstead airport is like a huge mall that you just follow the path through, like the yellow brick road. We headed towards Wetherspoons for a coffee and breakfast. I had scrambled egg on toast, Corinne had the good old British bacon sandwich. With a look round Accessorize and Smiths it was then time to go to the gate which was a bit of a walk and bus journey as the train wasn’t working.
The plane almost full then after a delay of 25 minutes waiting for our slot to take off we were in the air. With a wind blowing our way the pilot made up the 25 minutes so we landed in Alicante on time to a beautiful sunny day.
Only two stops on the air conditioned coach and we were in Benidorm at the Gold Arcos hotel. Booking in was quick and easy, then with a room upgrade that we didn’t ask for, I would like to think it was for my birthday as I would be celebrating being 21 again lol during our stay, I did tell them I would be blogging about them though.
The air conditioned room was excellent with a wrap around balcony that had table, chairs and sun beds. Rainfall shower and lovely soft white towels, a comfy bed and we were happy.
