DAY FOUR

VENICE

We all left the hotel about 8 am on our way to Venice. We had a very overcast day but with all there was to see I don’t think it bothered anyone. The buildings are so beautiful but it does make you wonder if they are damp inside to live in. St Marks Square was still a bit flooded so they have boardwalks for you to walk across but they are so packed. The gondolas cannot go down all the small waterways as the water is so high because of the tide and flooding, so the price of them is even more expensive at the moment, €120.

You go across a causeway in the coach/car however you are travelling there and then you park up, there are some market stalls there that are cheaper than in Venice. Waiting for the water boats which come in all sizes, thank goodness ours was a big one with no rocking about. There are some lovely restaurants up the side streets away from the front where the boats and gondolas dock.

We found a lovely little restaurant for our lunch.

I am having trouble uploading my photos here in Garda for some reason and have tried everything so I am going to post this and will do another post later in the week with more photos. Uploaded pics now.
