THE LONG, LONG AFTERNOON BY INGA VESPER – BOOK REVIEW

PUBLISHED BY MANILLA PRESS ON 2nd FEBRUARY 2021

Taking us back to 1959 in America to a typical housing estate where the mother is at home looking after the children. That is all that is normal as the kitchen is covered in blood and one of the children is outside crying, what has happened in this homely suburb. The home help, Ruby appears to have more initiative than the police as they are following the clues but are they right?

This story pulls you right in with brilliant descriptive writing about that time, taking you back and visualising it all. I enjoyed this as nothing was as it seems and then when you think you have worked it out, bang it all changes. Well worth reading and a big five stars from me, I never worked it out so that shows how good it is.

This author is one to watch, sure to be a best seller.
