TRAVELLING TO FRANCE ON THE FERRY

Enzo has been asking to go on a ship, so we drove to Dover and took the ferry to Calais, France. The journey takes about 90 minutes, which goes by very quickly.

We walked around the whole ship; he found the soft play area and played with some other children. He had a bacon roll for breakfast and was amazed at the size of it!

Disembarking from the ship was very quick, and then we were on our way driving to Dunkerque, where we were staying in an Ibis hotel within walking distance of the centre. The hotel was very good, with a restaurant if you wanted to eat there, and a bar. We were up on the 4th floor; the lift was very small, so just the 3 of us fit in it.

The first evening we got ready and went for a walk to the Chinese restaurant as Enzo wanted noodles and chicken curry. After another walk, we ended up at the Hollywood restaurant, so we had dessert, which was very nice. Enzo had pancakes that were very big. I had the Tiramisu dessert, but I must say it didn’t taste of coffee at all.

We then walked back to the hotel and went to bed as we were all tired. Everyone had a good sleep and didn’t wake until 8.30 the following morning.
