It takes about two hours to get to Winchester from Folkestone depending on the traffic but as we went on a Sunday the roads were pretty clear. I had never been to Winchester, I was amazed at so many old buildings, the Cathedral was lovely with such great stained glass windows. I was thrilled to see Jane Austin’s grave on the floor of the Cathedral. The High Street is one of the longest I have seen and it was great to see all the individual shops open and doing well. In the Great Hall, I saw the Knights of the Round Table, a table which was attached to the wall. The Mulled wine from the market was delicious and warmed you up as it was a pretty cold day. So many stalls in the Christmas Market and very busy, which did feel a bit strange to be amongst big crowds after covid.
Here is a selection of photos from our excellent coach day out with Real Socialising.
