We had an early start, with us not so bubbly this morning with most of the coach having a little nap. Going through Switzerland woke everyone up with the oooooo’s and aaarrrrr’s over the scenery. The picture book image you have of this country is just as it is, absolutely beautiful. We learnt a few bits of information from our trusty Clive, he is one of the best drivers I have encountered on coach trips. Every 18 year old does military duty for two years and then they get to keep their rifle, which must be locked away safe in their home, considering so many houses have guns but there is no gun crime in Switzerland! Also there are so many tunnels where the roads go through the mountains and at the end of every tunnel there is a box full of explosives, in case of war they would blow there own tunnels up to keep the town safe! I love hearing bits of information like that and amazingly I remember those.
We arrived at our hotel in Lake Garda, Italy about 6pm, we were all eager to get off the coach grab our suitcases and find our rooms. The rooms are basic but comfortable the only fault I could find was we had no fridge in the room which would have been handy for drinks. The dinner that evening consisted of about five courses which was amazing, I will take photos tomorrow of our food. We were ready for bed after all that and looking forward to our next week soaking up the sun and enjoying Italy.
