THE BOAT TO PAXOS

I have never been on this trip before even though this is the third time I have been to Corfu.  The day starts when they pick you up at your apartment about 8.45 you then travel by coach or car to the port. The boat is there ready for you to board and then pay, €35 is a good price for a lovely day out. After you leave the port you follow the coast round and he shows you the many caves, smaller boats are able to go in the caves.  We then go to AntiPaxos where they anchor away from the beach so you are able to jump in the water or go down the steps for a more leisurely swim. We were there for about an hour, you can just stay on board and appreciate the views they also have a small bar where you can get soft drinks, cans of Greek beer or tea and coffee.

We then continued the journey onto Paxos, which is a glorious little port with many restaurants and small local shops. The walkways between everything are very small, this adds to the charm of the place as it really is so quant.  Deciding which place to eat in is hard as they are all really good but which ever you choose if you want true authenticity then it’s got to be Moussaka.  You get about 2 hours to yourself which goes very quickly, it’s then back on board for the journey straight back to port. Apparently we travel at about 11 knots which still makes a few waves for the smaller boats. After disembarking it’s back on the coach for your journey back to the apartment arriving about 5 pm.

I would highly recommend this day out as you get to see so much that is really beautiful and so easy as Theo arranges everything for you and picks you up.
Happy holidays
