HYTHE FOOD & DRINK FESTIVAL

WEDNESDAY UNTIL SUNDAY FROM THE 26th JULY This is one of my favourite food festivals that is local to myself, it’s also nice to catch up with friends there and experience all the new stalls.  The writing group I run has a marquee with many local authors coming along to meet their readers to sign and sell their books. WINCHESTER CHRISTMAS MARKET

It takes about two hours to get to Winchester from Folkestone depending on the traffic but as we went on a Sunday the roads were pretty clear. I had never been to Winchester, I was amazed at so many old buildings, the Cathedral was lovely with such great stained glass windows. I was thrilled to see Jane Austin’s grave on the floor of the Cathedral. The High Street is one of the longest I have seen and it was great to see all the individual shops open and doing well. CHRISTMAS EVENT TODAY SUNDAY 20th

LEAS CLIFF HALL, FOLKESTONE   You have until 4 pm to get along to The Leas Cliff hall for one of the best craft Christmas events, so much to see with a very varied price range. Did you know you can get Christmas cards with seeds for planting? What a brilliant idea. The reindeer need their Christmas treat and for 50p it’s a bargain. I love the reusable bottles with the cocktail recipe on them. Some lovely jewellery is available so you could grab a few more presents for the big day.
